Continuing in the ongoing legal back-and-forth between Apple and Nokia, Apple has filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission, asking the Commission to block Nokia’s imports. Sound familiar? That’s because Nokia filed a very similar complaint several weeks ago asking the ITC to block Apple’s imports. Tit for tat.

The entire legal episode between Apple and Nokia has unfolded much the same. Nokia filed the original suit in October, which alleges iPhone patent infringements, and Apple followed up with a December countersuit for patent infringements. Nokia filed its ITC complaint in late December, along with a new lawsuit that extends the patent infringements to a whole host of Apple devices including Mac and iPod models.

As for Apple’s latest move, Nokia has vowed to defend itself. Spokesman Mark Durrant told Bloomberg: ”[T]his does not alter the fact that Apple has failed to agree appropriate terms for using Nokia technology.”

The ITC has not yet agreed to review either Nokia’s or Apple’s complaint.

What do you think the chances are that we’ll see a settlement to one of these lawsuits/complaints before we see another legal action by either party? [via Ars Technica]
