Apple To Roll Out Mac App Store in First Week of January
By Chris Weiss
Apple announced its upcoming Mac App Store in October and followed up today with the official launch date: Thursday, January 6. The new store, which extends the App Store to Mac OS X-equipped devices will launch in 90 countries. Like the iOS App Store, it will include both free and paid apps.
A lowly Apple PR writer wrote this generic quote and slapped Steve Jobs’ name on it: “The App Store revolutionized mobile apps. We hope to do the same for PC apps with the Mac App Store by making finding and buying PC apps easy and fun. We can’t wait to get started on January 6.” [via Apple]
