Apple Officializes Its January 27 Event

To be frank, we thought the January 27 date was official like three weeks ago, but Apple waited until MLK Day to make the official announcement. Today, the company sent out invitations to journalists for the event. As reported previously, the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on the 27th. It will begin at 10 a.m P.T. While the invitations don’t specify the exact nature of the event, they state simply “come see our latest creation”. Hmmm…wonder what that could be?
The Apple tablet has been under intense speculation for months and is expected to feature a 10-inch touchscreen display, with possible smaller versions also available. Some of the latest information and rumors point to interesting new multitouch technology, including the ability to write on screen. And it’s all just over a week away. [via Computerworld]
