It’s hard to believe it’s possible, but everyday the iPhone 4 stories get more frenzied than ever. So frenzied, in fact, that Apple has finally seen the need to offer something more satisfying than “All phones have antenna problems. Hold it right or get a case.” At least we assume they’ll have something more substantive when they hold a press conference tomorrow in Cupertino. The press conference, which will go down at 10 a.m. PT, is to address iPhone 4 issues, though Apple hasn’t given much insight into exactly what it will say.

Will there be a recall? Free bumper cases for all? We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure. In the meantime, press isn’t getting any better for Apple. Another big headline today comes from Bloomberg, which reports that a senior engineer and antenna expert at Apple warned Steve Jobs early on that the antenna design might cut calls.

This isn’t really surprising since it took the consumer world all of a few hours to realize that the antenna has issues, and with all that brain power in Cupertino, one would figure that someone (everyone) knew about it. Why Jobs chose to completely ignore it is a puzzling question. Perhaps he thought the Apple-drunk world would be so mesmerized by the retina display that they would forget all about actually calling people. Bad call. [via AppleInsider and Bloomberg]
