Android 2.0 Coming to Motorola Sholes?
By Jared Newman
Something about shiny mobile phone renders fills me with glee, so I’m excited about these rumors that the Motorola Sholes will utilize Android 2.0 and possibly land on my carrier, AT&T. The Sholes will reportedly make use of a touch screen slider built for the next Android version, codenamed “Eclair,” and will include voice recognition, text-to-speech and whole phone search. In other words, it’s becoming a little more comparable to the iPhone in terms of overall user experience. That should be helped by the inclusion of a GMAP3430 processor, which shares the iPhone’s basic architecture. Verizon will reportedly get the phone first, followed by AT&T and maybe T-Mobile. None will be available until next year, says the rumor, so time your mandatory two-year service contracts accordingly. [Android and Me via Electronista]
