Amazon Kindle Hits Record In November
By Chris Weiss
It’s no secret that this is going to be a holiday season in which many an e-reader finds its way under the Christmas tree. It’s also not a secret that despite the press garnered by competitors like the B&N Nook, the Kindle is going to dominate the field thanks to prepared, established production/distribution from Amazon. So it’s no surprise that Amazon has announced that the Kindle enjoyed record sales in the month of November.
While Sony and B&N were busy selling out of their own e-readers, a prepared Amazon was racking up record sales via individual purchases and bulk orders to businesses and organizations. Amazon didn’t release specific numbers, but merely stated that November Kindle sales were the highest enjoyed by the popular e-reader.
In addition to having the supplies necessary to deal with heightened holiday buying, Amazon recently increased the battery life of the Kindle and added a native PDF reader. With the holiday season just barely underway, it should prove to be a very merry holiday over at Amazon. [via Reuters]
