Acer Shows 7-Inch Tablet
By Chris Weiss
Acer’s been a busy little tech manufacturer hasn’t it? In addition to introducing the Stream today, CEO Gianfranco Lanci showed off an upcoming tablet at a Beijing press event. While little information was offered on the specs, what we do have is rather intriguing.
A little smaller than the iPad, but bigger than the 5-inch Dell Streak, the device features a 7-inch screen and includes a Qwerty keypad, something that would be a nice thing to have on a tablet. Lanci also reportedly indicated that the unnamed tablet will be offered through mobile networks, indicating that it has 3G capability rather than just Wi-Fi.
Acer plans to launch the tablet in the fourth quarter of this year. Until then, we’ll have to speculate about what else is going on there. The sub-iPad form factor and Qwerty keyboard make us want to hear more, though. [via Reghardware ]
