1 Million HTC Magics Sold

HTC’s celebrating a nice round number, having sold 1 million Android-powered HTC Dream smartphones since they went on sale in April. These are known stateside as the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, which hit the U.S. market last month. Instead of going for the high end, the company plans to live happily in the mid-range, expecting these phones to account for 50 to 60 percent of sales. These announcements came during the launch of the HTC Hero, a pretty nice-looking phone by any standard. And by signing up for a two-year contract with Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, the phone is absolutely free. No word on what that phone will reach the states. [DigiTimes via Electronista]
