It was only a matter of time before the U.S. market was given a device that combines the functional versatility of a mobile phone with a pico projector. While this particular projector won’t come standard, at least it’s an option.
On the surface, the upcoming LG Expo is a standard smartphone slider featuring a responsive touchscreen at 800 x 480, full Qwerty keypad, 5MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth and WinMo 6.5. Underneath, the phone will be built on a 1 GHz Qualcomm. The phone will benefit from other features including fingerprint ID pad, accelerometer, proximity sensor and FM radio. The “integrated” projector will not come standard, but will be available as an add-on. It will offer up to 40 inches of screen size.
The Expo will also become the first U.S. phone to feature LG’s LG-S interface, a modified version of WinMo 6.5. The phone will reportedly go on sale through business channels beginning on December 7. AT&T will carry the Expo. [LG via PC World]
